He had to take me into the house which was no easy feat. The drive was about a 40-degree angle, and he really had to lean into it to get me up there. Even for basic needs like needing the toilet, it meant I didn’t have to buzz a nurse to cart me to the toilet and then back again. By the time I had got on the ward it was about 10:30 so all the lights were off as it was past our bedtime.
